And we're celebrating 300 Voices in 300 Days on TAAN TV. In celebration of San Antonio's tricentennial, we will be sharing stories of African Americans who have made significant contributions in San Antonio for many, many years. I have the distinct privilege of sharing some of the stories of San Antonio sports greats, prominent and successful business owners, CEOs and entrepreneurs, those that have served our country in the military, and let us not forget our physicians and healthcare professionals. We have so many great stories to share with you. So make sure you stay tuned every day, because we will be sharing a different story every day starting July 9th through May 5th, 2018.\r\n\r\n\r\nSandra Nichols 0:45\r\n\r\n\r\nI'm Sandra Nichols, and we're celebrating San Antonio's tricentennial with 300 Voices in 300 Days on TAAN TV. I'm proud to share with you the many stories of African Americans that continue to impact our city. There have been and still are many great leaders, families, entertainers, and educators that we have available to tell of the many contributions that they made to the city of San Antonio. I'm not from San Antonio, so I am elated for this opportunity to talk to and meet the great stories of their past and present contributions. I love hearing great stories and through TAAN TV, I'm able to listen, learn and just share how fortunate San Antonio has become as a result of the significant contributions of African Americans.\r\n\r\n\r\nAlyssa Weathersby 1:40\r\n\r\n\r\nYou know, Sandra, there have been many sports greats that have been born and raised in San Antonio or have even lived here for many, many years. For instance, Gary Green played for several years with the Kansas City Chiefs, and was selected as five time all star. He was inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Fame in January 2016. We could be hearing more about his story. And also formerly with the Kansas City Chiefs and currently living in San Antonio is Willie Mitchell. Mitchell earned a Super Bowl in 1969. The list goes on with priest Holmes and NBA greats, David Robinson, Tim Duncan, and many more. \r\n\r\n\r\nSandra Nichols 2:18\r\n\r\n\r\nWell there are a lot of entertainers past and present that I'll have an opportunity to interview. People like Carly Mays, Beverly Houston, spot, Barnett, and many many more. So I'm going to have fun learning more about the entertainment greats in San Antonio, as well as prominent families, educators and prominent leaders in the community and city.\r\n\r\n\r\nAlyssa Weathersby 2:41 \r\n\r\n\r\n I don't know about you Sandra but I can't wait to get started.
